A glimpse into the construction projects I’ve worked on over the years, back before smartphones and easy documentation made capturing progress effortless. Most of the photos I may have taken are either buried in a box somewhere or lost forever.
These projects are from a bygone era—some dating back to my early 20s. Building codes, standards, and best practices have evolved since then, so there’s no need to reach out and tell me they don’t meet today’s regulations. They were built to the standards of their time, and this page exists purely for nostalgia.
Back in the day, I did a lot of these projects around Omaha for builders, along with plenty of sheetrock hanging (not taping). I’m hoping to track down more pictures of the fully completed projects, but the reality is that documenting work wasn’t as much of a priority then as it is now. Most of these were just built, finished, and moved on from—long before smartphones made capturing every step second nature. Back then, we had to use real cameras, buy film, and pay for developing, so taking pictures was a hassle.
