Black Sheep Ridge, or BSR, was purchased at a time when the world was beginning to find its balance after the pandemic. After spending that last 2 years traveling full-time in the RV, primarily because work allowed for it, we realized it was time to establish a home base. We needed a place to park, reset, and provide our children with a sense of stability as remote learning came to an end and the return to in-person school became part of our everyday life again. Our children were never homeschooled, and while we have nothing against it, it's not a path we desire to take.
I initially envisioned building my family’s dream home on this property in Tennessee. However, as the project evolved, it became much more than that. It turned into a space to experiment, a place to bond as a family, and a unique opportunity to teach, dream, and grow together. In every sense, this journey has been an adventure, one that has shaped us in ways we never expected.
I’ve gathered countless memories, stories, and practical tips that could be helpful for anyone considering a similar project. I’ll be updating this site regularly, so be sure to check back often as it takes time to fill in the details and share my experiences. What you’ll find here is entirely authentic—no exaggerations, no half-truths. This website is dedicated to offering real insights and sharing knowledge in the most genuine way possible.
That said, we no longer own this property. I'll be updating this at least once a month, so check back to find out why, what happened and any regrets we have.
